Sudan's Burhan Rejects International Peace Initiatives Amid Mobilization

Basha Tabik, advisor to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, stated on Friday that Sudanese Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Burhan's announcement of general mobilization and his refusal to engage in negotiations conveys a clear message to those who believe they can influence peace initiatives. This remark alludes to international calls for a political resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Tabik further noted that Burhan's statement serves as a direct response to comments made by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and signals to the international community that the military leadership in Khartoum currently has no intention of participating in any negotiation process.

Regarding Burhan's condition that the Rapid Support Forces must disarm before any negotiations can commence, Tabik dismissed this as "daydreams and unrealistic wishes," viewing it as evidence of a lack of seriousness in pursuing a comprehensive political solution.
