The Syrian capital, Damascus, was the site of significant agreements between Syria and Saudi Arabia, marking a pivotal moment in their economic and developmental ties. These agreements span crucial sectors, including aviation, water management, telecommunications, and industry, as well as various developmental and social initiatives.

A Boost for Aviation and Air Transport

The agreements feature plans for the development of Aleppo International Airport and the enhancement of existing airport facilities to improve air transport and logistics services. Additionally, a new Syrian airline focused on commercial aviation and cargo transport will be established in collaboration with the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, aiming to strengthen Syria's presence in the aviation sector.

Strategic Solutions for Water Management

In the water sector, a new agreement aims to develop desalination and water transport projects, which will include comprehensive economic, technical, and financial studies. These initiatives are designed to explore seawater desalination options and provide sustainable solutions to the country's water challenges.

Advancing Digital Infrastructure and Data Services

The agreements also encompass a strategic initiative to enhance telecommunications infrastructure by expanding the fiber optic network and creating modern data centers. This project seeks to improve internet service quality and position Syria as a regional hub for data transmission and international communications.

Strengthening the Industrial Sector and Workforce Development

In the industrial domain, an agreement was reached to operate and enhance the Modern Syrian Cables Company, which will support local industries and production capabilities. The agreements further include the establishment of a national platform for vocational and technical training, aimed at improving workforce efficiency and aligning with labor market needs.

Joint Development Initiatives to Foster Cooperation

On the developmental front, a framework agreement was signed between the "Syrian Development Fund" and the "Saudi Development Committee," launching 45 joint initiatives aimed at supporting development projects and improving living conditions across various sectors.
