UN Official Warns of Deteriorating Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza, Calls for Urgent Action

Stefan Silliers, the Special Representative of the UN Development Program for Palestine, cautioned on Tuesday about the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza. In statements made to Al Jazeera, he emphasized that the crisis requires urgent attention as the fundamental needs of the population continue to rise.

He noted that the region's infrastructure is experiencing widespread collapse, underscoring the urgent need for improvements and the introduction of tents and shelter materials to assist the hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals facing dire conditions.

Silliers also mentioned that numerous bodies remain trapped under rubble, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster that has yet to be addressed. This situation highlights the necessity for increased international efforts to recover victims and provide urgent support to the affected population.
