Documentary on Melania Trump Surpasses Expectations and Sparks Controversy in the U.S.

The new documentary film "Melania", produced by Amazon MGM, achieved unexpected success at the North American box office this weekend, grossing $7 million and surpassing many forecasts.
The film chronicles the life of Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, during the twenty days leading up to her husband's inauguration as president in 2025, providing an in-depth look at her personal and political life before entering the White House.
Analyst David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research described the film as more of a political investment than a commercially viable cinematic project, noting that its production cost of $75 million is substantial for a documentary, yet relatively modest for Amazon.
He added: "This is a strong start for a documentary, but it would be concerning for any other film due to limited opportunities for high international revenue."
In terms of overall box office performance, the film "Send Help", produced by Twentieth Century, led the charts with $20 million.
It tells the story of a woman and her director trying to survive on a deserted island after their plane crashes, featuring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien in the lead roles.
Coming in second, the film "Iron Lang" earned $18 million. This science fiction work, based on a video game, was written, directed, and financed by YouTube star Mark Fischbach, known as Markiplier, and is set in a post-apocalyptic world.
The premiere of "Melania" was attended by the First Lady herself at an event held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington at the end of January, generating significant media and public interest.
