Lebanon to Sign Agreement with Syria for Transfer of Prisoners

Lebanon's Deputy Prime Minister, Tarek Mitri, announced on Saturday that Beirut and Damascus are preparing to sign an agreement next week that will facilitate the transfer of around 300 Syrian prisoners from Lebanese prisons to Syrian authorities. This decision has received the endorsement of the Lebanese Cabinet.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to address outstanding issues between the two nations, aiming to reorganize bilateral relations in light of recent political changes in Syria following the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
