Israeli Military Operations in Southern Syria Result in Casualties and Displacement

Recent Israeli military actions near the village of Beit Jinn have led to fatalities and the displacement of numerous families, as reported by Syrian media.

Reports indicate that Israeli incursions from Beit Jinn towards Beit Jinn Farm in southern Syria have resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to others. An increase in Israeli drone activity has also been observed over the region.

Media sources noted that drone flights are concentrated along the road connecting Beit Jinn village to Beit Jinn Farm amid escalating tensions, confirming that dozens of families have fled the village to areas deemed safer due to fears of military escalation.

The Israeli military issued a statement today via spokesperson Avichai Adraee on the platform X, announcing the execution of a nighttime military operation in Beit Jinn, southern Syria.

The statement indicated that Israeli forces apprehended individuals suspected of belonging to what it termed an "Islamic organization." It specified that the operation was conducted based on intelligence gathered over recent weeks, suggesting that the group was planning attacks against Israeli civilians.

The Israeli military further stated that its forces came under fire and returned fire, resulting in injuries to six soldiers, with varying degrees of severity.

According to Adraee's statement, "The operation was fully executed, all suspects were apprehended, and several terrorists were eliminated." He emphasized that "forces remain deployed in the area and will continue operations against threats."

These strikes are part of a series of repeated operations conducted by Israel across Syria in 2025, targeting sites on the outskirts of Damascus and in the southern region, as part of efforts to "counter threats and protect the Druze community near the border."

In contrast, Syrian authorities have reported that these strikes resulted in the deaths of their military personnel.
