Instagram Assures Users of Account Security Following Data Breach Reports

Following a report by Malwarebytes regarding the theft of information from 17.5 million accounts on Instagram, concerns have arisen among users of the social media platform. However, Instagram quickly denied any breach of its systems on Sunday.
In an official statement, Instagram said: "We have resolved the issue that allowed a third party to request password reset messages for certain users," confirming that the accounts of its subscribers remain secure.
Reports from Malwarebytes indicated that attackers managed to acquire sensitive data, including usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information, raising fears about the potential misuse of this data.
Instagram is the third largest social network globally, following Facebook and YouTube, with over 2.4billion active users, attracting influencers and marketers worldwide. At the same time, it remains an appealing target for hackers seeking to obtain users' personal information.
