Former Zamalek Player and Journalist Mohamed Sabri Dies in Tragic Accident

Mohamed Sabri, a former player for Zamalek and a well-known journalist for the club's channel, died today, Friday, in a tragic accident in the eastern Cairo region at the age of 51.
Sabri is remembered as one of the most celebrated figures of the "White Castle," having made his first-team debut under the late coach Mahmoud El-Gohary in 1994. His professional career with Zamalek spanned until 2003, during which he secured 11 different titles.
Known for his powerful shots, Sabri earned the nickname "the cannon". He began his successful career by scoring a remarkable goal against Ahmed Shobeir in a key match between Al Ahly and Zamalek. He continued to shine in subsequent seasons, notably scoring a famous goal against Essam El-Hadary during the 1998-1999 season.
After spending 13 years at Zamalek, Sabri sought new professional experiences, joining Kazma in Kuwait and later Ittihad Alexandria, before announcing his retirement in 2004 after a brief stint with Ittihad Alexandria.
He then transitioned to sports media, becoming one of the most recognizable faces on the Zamalek channel, maintaining a close connection with the club until his final moments.
Born on April 7, 1974, in Belbeis, Sharqia Governorate, Sabri leaves behind a significant sports and media legacy that will be remembered by fans.
