U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Wednesday that the United States may not witness substantial progress in efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine unless a significant breakthrough occurs, reiterating the need for ongoing efforts towards that objective.

On the topic of Iran, Rubio indicated that the U.S. is open to direct dialogue with Iranian officials, noting that President Donald Trump is willing to engage with any party, which he does not view as a concession.

Rubio mentioned that the U.S. is ready to meet with Iranian representatives on Friday if they are interested, while acknowledging conflicting reports regarding the location of potential talks. He emphasized that Washington prefers a direct meeting, although the possibility of reaching an agreement remains uncertain.

He also highlighted that any discussions with Iran must address the issue of ballistic missiles to be meaningful, asserting that President Trump has various options to respond to developments concerning Iran.
