The agreements include the launch of a project to develop a new international airport in Aleppo, as well as plans to modernize and operate the existing airport to promote air transport and enhance logistical services. Additionally, the agreements involve the establishment of a new Syrian airline specializing in commercial air travel and cargo operations, in partnership with the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, thereby strengthening the country's ability to regain its presence in the air transport sector.
Strategic Initiatives to Address Water Challenges
In the water sector, an agreement was signed to develop desalination and water transport projects, which will include comprehensive economic, technical, and financial studies. These initiatives aim to assess seawater desalination capabilities and provide sustainable solutions to address the country's water issues.
Enhancing Digital Infrastructure and Transforming Syria into a Regional Data Hub
The agreements also include a strategic project to develop telecommunications infrastructure through the expansion of fiber optic networks and the establishment of modern data centers. The goal of this project is to improve the quality of internet services and strengthen Syria's position as a regional center for data transmission and international communication.
Support for the Industrial Sector and Workforce Development
In the industrial sector, an agreement was reached to operate and develop a modern Syrian cable company to support local industry and boost production. The agreements also include the development of a national platform focused on vocational and technical training to enhance workforce efficiency and meet labor market demands.
45 Development Initiatives to Strengthen Collaborative Efforts
On the development and social front, both parties signed a framework agreement for cooperation between the "Syrian Development Fund" and the "Saudi Development Committee," which includes the initiation of 45 joint development initiatives aimed at supporting development projects and improving service and living conditions across various sectors.
