Former employees at the residences of Spanish singer Julio Iglesias in the Caribbean have accused the internationally renowned artist of sexual harassment, assault, and both physical and verbal abuse during their time working for him, which began in 2021 and earlier.
One employee reported that Iglesias, then 77 years old, exerted pressure to compel her into sexual relationships, stating that she endured physical and verbal humiliation, including slapping, while working at Iglesias' residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
A three-year journalistic investigation gathered testimonies from 15 former staff members, along with documents, correspondence, recorded calls, and medical records, confirming the harsh working conditions and strict surveillance at the star's homes.
Neither Iglesias nor his legal representatives have responded to journalists' requests for comment, while one of the human resources managers dismissed the allegations as "fabrications."
It is noteworthy that Julio Iglesias, father of pop star Enrique Iglesias, is regarded as one of the most successful Spanish-speaking artists globally, having released over 80 albums and sold more than 300 million records.
