Instagram Addresses User Account Security Following Data Breach Reports

Following reports from the American cybersecurity firm Malwarebytes regarding the theft of information from 17.5 million accounts on Instagram, the social media platform quickly moved to deny any potential system breach on Sunday.
In an official statement, Instagram said: "We have resolved the issue that allowed an external party to request password reset messages for some users," and emphasized that user accounts are entirely secure.
According to reports from Malwarebytes, attackers were able to access sensitive data, including usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information, raising concerns about potential misuse of this data.
Instagram is the third-largest social network globally, following Facebook and YouTube, with over 2.4billion active users, attracting influencers and marketers worldwide. However, it also presents an appealing target for hackers seeking personal information from users.
