Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced today, Monday, the publication of a draft temporary constitution for the State of Palestine on an official electronic platform, allowing for public feedback over the next 60 days.
This initiative aims to enhance citizen and institutional engagement in the constitutional drafting process by soliciting comments and suggestions, thereby promoting transparency and community involvement.
The constitutional committee, responsible for drafting the document, reported that it has been working for seven months and conducted approximately 70 meetings. The committee focused on the principles of separation of powers and pluralism to ensure institutional stability and uphold citizens' rights.
