Aleppo Governor Azzam Gharib highlighted the need for compassion and community solidarity in a recent post on platform X, asserting that Aleppo "has been and will continue to be one home, regardless of the challenges faced."
He underscored the importance of humanitarian and religious initiatives to safeguard civilians and deliver urgent assistance to those impacted by the ongoing conflict.
Appeal for Religious Institutions to Offer Shelter
In response to the current crisis and the displacement of residents from the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods, the governor appealed to leaders of churches, mosques, and shelters to open their facilities to accommodate those in need temporarily until the situation improves.
He confirmed that this initiative represents a collaborative effort between civil society and government entities to alleviate the repercussions of the military escalation on civilians.
Coordination with Relevant Authorities
Gharib called for direct collaboration with relevant authorities and local leaders to ensure that the displaced receive essential supplies, including food, water, and healthcare, along with the logistical support needed for an effective response.
