YouTube Introduces New Filters for Enhanced Video Search Experience

The platform YouTube has announced significant updates to its search filters, giving users greater control over the type of content they wish to view.
Users can now specifically search for either Shorts or long videos, rather than having both types mixed together, which had previously caused inconvenience for some.
According to tech news site The Verge, the new filters will enable users to choose:
• Long Videos: display only long videos.
• Shorts: display only short videos.
At the same time, YouTube has announced the removal of the filters for “Upload Date - Last Hour” and “Sort By Rating”, following user complaints regarding their effectiveness.
However, options for sorting by upload date such as today, this week, this month, and this year will remain available.
YouTube has also introduced a new filter called “Popularity” to replace the view count option. This new system will evaluate videos based on views, watch time, and other relevant indicators to determine their popularity in searches.
To enhance usability, the platform has renamed the “Sort By” list to “Prioritize” for better clarity and efficiency for users.
These updates are part of YouTube's ongoing efforts to provide a more precise and seamless search experience, allowing users to directly access the type of content they desire, whether it be short clips or long videos, without sifting through mixed results.
