Authorities in Turkey have discovered the bodies of 43-year-old Huriye Halwaji and her five-year-old son, who had been missing since November 2.
The bodies were found frozen in a river in a forested area near the village of Kocaeli in northern Turkey.
The Turkish police, aided by gendarmerie and emergency teams (AFAD), located the bodies after several days of searching under mysterious circumstances that have raised numerous questions regarding the cause of death.
Local media, including "CNN Türk," reported that the bodies were found without clothing, adding to the intrigue of the case.
The mother’s clothes were discovered a short distance from her body, while the child’s body was located under a nearby waterfall, approximately 50 meters away from the mother’s remains.
A preliminary examination revealed no obvious signs of physical violence, such as stab wounds or bruises, leading investigators to consider the possibility of death due to a severe drop in body temperature.
The prosecutor's office in Inebolu is continuing the investigation, and the bodies have been sent to Ankara for a thorough autopsy that may clarify the cause of death. Meanwhile, the mother’s phone remains missing, and search teams are conducting operations in the area as they await the investigation results.
