Liverpool's Arne Slot Criticizes Referee Decisions Following Loss to Manchester City

Liverpool manager Arne Slot voiced his frustration and disappointment following his team's 2-1 loss to Manchester City in the 25th round of the Premier League on Sunday.
In an interview with the BBC after the match, he stated:
"There were many incidents during the game, which is typical for such encounters, but the disappointment is significant as we did not achieve a positive result."
He acknowledged that Manchester City performed better in the first half, despite not creating many clear chances, while maintaining ball control in Liverpool's half.
In the second half, Slot explained that his team clearly dominated and had several clear opportunities, adding:
"We were clearly the better side and did not give them any chances to score. Before the match ended, a deflected cross found the net, leveling the score at 1-1, and we tried to prevent it, but Bernardo Silva finished the attack excellently."
Slot highlighted his team's tendency to concede goals in stoppage time, which occurred again in this match, and concluded by discussing the red card issued to Dominik Szoboszlai, stating:
"That was not the most critical incident. The key moment was when Mohamed Salah found himself one-on-one with the goal, and anyone who has followed the matches here in recent years knows that is a goal for Salah. Once again, the referee did not treat us fairly."
Szoboszlai received a red card for pulling Erling Haaland's shirt while following Ryan Cherki's shot towards an empty net, while Liverpool players had called for the expulsion of Marc Guéhi after a clear foul on Mohamed Salah in a scoring position.
With this result, Manchester City continues its pursuit of the top of the table, while Liverpool faces a significant challenge to maintain its position in the league amid ongoing criticism of officiating in major matches.
