Egypt's President Sissi Provides State Healthcare for Renowned Artists

In a humanitarian gesture welcomed by the artistic community and the public, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sissi has decided to provide state-funded healthcare for elderly artists and members of the Syndicate of Artistic Professions, recognizing their substantial contributions to enriching Egyptian and Arab culture.
This decision encompasses several notable figures who have made a lasting impact on the history of Egyptian art, including artists Abla Kamel, Nagwa Fouad, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Diaa El-Mirghani, Abdallah Moshref, and Jamila Aziz.
The head of the Actors' Syndicate, Ashraf Zaki, expressed the syndicate's deep gratitude towards President Sissi, stating in an official announcement:
"The Syndicate of Artistic Professions extends its sincere thanks and profound appreciation to the President for his directives to care for distinguished artists with rich artistic careers, and for the full support of the state in their healthcare, acknowledging their creative contributions that have enriched the Egyptian and Arab spirit over the decades."
Zaki further noted that this humanitarian initiative reflects the President's deep appreciation for the role of art and artists in shaping national consciousness and preserving Egypt's cultural identity, affirming the state's commitment to honor its dedicated sons who have contributed to the happiness of the people.
Regarding the health status of artist Abla Kamel, Zaki clarified in a phone interview that she is in good health and is currently at home surrounded by her family.
* Artistic Career of Abla Kamel:
Abla began her career in drama with the series "Martyrs and Tears" part two and "Halima's Nights," before gaining widespread fame through the series "I Will Not Live in My Father's Cloak."
She has presented significant works such as "Riya and Skenia," "Words of Morning and Evening," "The Ghosts of Seyaala," "The Weddings of Iblis," "The Ladies of Garden City," as well as films like "El-Lemby," "The Women," "My Aunt France," and "Hysteria."
Her last work was the fifth season of the series "Salsal Al-Dam" in 2018, after which she announced her retirement and declined to participate in the sixth season.
This initiative is a humanitarian gesture honoring the greatest artists who have helped shape the soul of the Egyptian people, confirming that the Egyptian state is committed to valuing its creative individuals.
