Saudi Crown Prince Meets German Chancellor to Discuss Regional and International Cooperation

In a move underscoring Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing international relations, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Wednesday evening.
During the official meeting, both leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and potential developments across various sectors, as well as recent regional and international events and the efforts surrounding them.
The Crown Prince also engaged with a delegation of German business leaders accompanying Chancellor Merz, aiming to bolster economic and investment ties between the two nations.
This meeting is part of the growing economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Germany, with trade volume between the two countries reaching $7.6 billion in the first nine months of 2024.
Additionally, the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a green hydrogen bridge, with the initial phase targeting the export of 200,000 tons of hydrogen.
The meeting reflects Saudi Arabia's vision to strengthen global partnerships and enhance its role in regional and international dialogue, while Germany emphasizes the significance of cooperation with Saudi Arabia across various economic and political domains.
