Sudan's Military Leader Signals Rejection of International Peace Efforts

Al-Basha Tabiq, advisor to the leader of the Rapid Support Forces, stated on Friday that the announcement by Sudan's Sovereign Council President, Abdel Fattah Burhan, regarding a general mobilization and his refusal to engage in negotiations sends a definitive message to those who believe they can influence peace initiatives aimed at ending the conflict, referencing international positions advocating for a political solution.

Tabiq noted that this announcement was a direct response to remarks made by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, indicating that the military leadership in Khartoum has no intention of entering any negotiation process at this time.

Regarding Burhan's condition that the Rapid Support Forces surrender their weapons prior to any negotiations, Tabiq characterized this as "daydreams and unrealistic desires," suggesting that such a proposal reflects a lack of seriousness in pursuing a comprehensive political solution.
