Saudi Crown Prince and German Chancellor Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Issues

In a demonstration of Saudi Arabia's commitment to strengthening international ties, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as Prime Minister, welcomed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Wednesday evening.
The two leaders engaged in discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and identifying opportunities for growth across multiple sectors. They also reviewed the latest developments in both regional and international contexts, along with ongoing efforts to address these issues.
Additionally, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with a group of German business leaders accompanying Chancellor Merz, aimed at bolstering economic and investment partnerships between the two nations.
This meeting is part of the increasing economic collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Germany, with trade between the two countries amounting to $7.6 billion in the first nine months of 2024.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a green hydrogen bridge, with an initial phase targeting the export of 200,000 tons of hydrogen.
This engagement underscores Saudi Arabia's vision to fortify its global partnerships and enhance its role in regional and international discussions, while Germany recognizes the significance of cooperation with Saudi Arabia across various economic and political domains.
