Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem Al-Araji stated that the region is experiencing a critical period that necessitates calm and stability, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomacy are essential for achieving these goals.

Al-Araji made these remarks during a meeting with former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Taylor, where they discussed regional challenges and their implications for Iraq, according to his media office.

He noted that Iraq maintains a balanced approach in its relations with various parties and is committed to fostering regional stability while preventing further escalation.

Additionally, Al-Araji underscored the importance of countries repatriating their nationals affiliated with ISIS, who were recently transferred from Syrian prisons, asserting that "ISIS continues to pose a significant threat to both regional and international security."

Victoria Taylor acknowledged Iraq's crucial role in promoting regional stability, stating that Iraq is integral to efforts aimed at restoring security in the area.

* Iran's Firm Stance on Nuclear Enrichment

In a related development, tensions persist between Washington and Tehran, with Iran reaffirming that its right to "nuclear enrichment" is non-negotiable.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that the country would not relinquish its nuclear program "even in the face of war" imposed by the United States.

Araghchi expressed skepticism regarding Washington's willingness to engage in genuine negotiations, asserting that "the presence of U.S. forces in the region does not intimidate us," and that Iran is ready to defend itself if necessary.

* Looking Ahead

As discussions between the United States and Iran continue in Oman, the diplomatic landscape appears to remain open, despite the risk of military escalation in the region.

Meanwhile, Iraq occupies a central position among various regional and international powers, striving to maintain its political autonomy while contributing to regional stability.

The situation continues to evolve as stakeholders observe the dynamics between major powers and Iraq's growing role in fostering peace and security amid these sensitive developments.
