The "Ecad Facts" platform, specialized in verifying digital content, revealed through an extensive investigation relying on precise visual and temporal analysis, the details of the massacre that took place at the National Hospital in the Sweida Governorate on July 16th of this year, indicating that the armed groups operating outside the law were the ones who initiated the attack and claimed responsibility for the operation, refuting allegations that blamed the Syrian government.

The platform began monitoring armed movements on the evening of July 15th, documenting video clips shared by Druze factions and local activists showing military preparations near the hospital. At 5:06 PM, a video circulated showing armed individuals declaring control over neighborhoods in Sweida and threatening security forces inside the hospital, with the filming location identified just 220 meters from its gate.

Further evidence emerged with a new recording at 6:37 PM, posted by the account of "Wahid Yezbek", showing an armed individual speaking about "liberating the city" in front of the Tourism Hotel (1.4 km from the hospital), then storming the adjacent police headquarters, indicating an expansion of their control. By 7:53 PM, the fighter Mamoun Addwan posted a video from in front of the hospital's southern entrance, where a sign saying "Maternity Ward Entrance" was visible, confirming the arrival of the factions at the doors of the health facility.

The investigation proved that the factions tightened their control over the hospital surroundings at night, with recorded statements from fighters threatening to "eliminate security elements" inside. The following day (July 16), the page "Syrian Axis 24" posted a video at 12:20 PM documenting the attack, followed by a statement from Sheikh Marwan Qewan describing security forces as "Daesh", justifying the attack.

By 3:14 PM, distress calls spread simultaneously with a statement from the Syrian Ministry of Defense warning of "armed individuals taking refuge in the hospital and using it as a firing platform", calling for their neutralization. At 4:00 PM, local sources reported the government forces regaining control, later footage emerged documenting the discovery of dozens of bodies, including civilians and security personnel, a fact confirmed by the Ministry of Health describing the event as a "massacre".

"Ecad Facts" concluded that the armed factions were the ones who initiated the attack and declared their intentions openly, while the government's role was limited to regaining control later. The investigation also pointed out a widespread disinformation campaign on social media platforms that attempted to blame the government, ignoring visual evidence.

The platform affirmed that accusing the government "lacks credibility and contradicts the facts", considering the incident one of the bloodiest and most documented events in the Syrian conflict, especially due to its occurrence in a vital health facility in the Sweida Governorate.
