Aleppo University Clarifies the Truth About the Broken Statues in the Faculty of Arts: Only Removal of Old Projects

Aleppo University in Syria clarified that the artworks that appeared broken in the campus of the Faculty of Fine Arts were not actually destroyed, but rather old student projects that had deteriorated due to time and weather conditions were removed.

The university's statement said: "What happened was not the destruction of existing artworks, but the removal of some old student projects that have been around for many years and have deteriorated."

The university confirmed that this procedure falls under the regular maintenance and cleanliness plan for the campus, and that it is an administrative routine aimed at organizing the spaces and maintaining the aesthetic of the place, without affecting the arts or the students' productions.

The university also indicated that valuable student projects are preserved, documented, and displayed in annual exhibitions, while works that deteriorate over time are disposed of in a thoughtful manner.

The statement concluded: "Our message is clear that we take pride in our students' projects and showcase them at the forefront of activities and exhibitions, and we continuously work to provide a clean and organized environment that helps them to be creative."
