UNICEF Reports Over 100,000 Displaced in El Fasher Due to Ongoing Violence

UNICEF announced today that the city of El Fasher in Darfur is experiencing a significant wave of displacement, with the number of refugees surpassing 100,000 since the end of October. This figure is expected to increase daily due to escalating violence and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
The organization confirmed that the majority of those displaced are women and children, who are facing extremely challenging conditions in refugee areas, including food shortages, lack of clean water, and inadequate healthcare, in addition to security risks.
UNICEF warned that the ongoing conflict will exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and urged the international community to intensify support to provide urgently needed assistance and ensure the protection of civilians.
