Israel Accuses Iran of Rearming Houthi and Hezbollah Groups

Iranian officials continue to assert that they successfully repelled Israeli attacks during last June's 12-day conflict, claiming victory. However, an Israeli security official revealed that Tehran is actively working to restore its military capabilities post-conflict.
In an interview with Israeli radio on Sunday, the official stated that Iran is "racing against time to rearm" due to concerns over a possible new Israeli operation on its territory. He noted that Iran is simultaneously supplying weapons to the Houthi in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The official also confirmed that Iran has recently intensified its arms smuggling operations into the West Bank, a move aimed at facilitating operations within Israel.
Additionally, he indicated that Iran is focused on rebuilding the military capabilities of the Houthi and equipping various active groups in Syria with weapons in preparation for a potential new conflict with Israel.
In the Lebanese context, the security source highlighted that Iran is aware that Israel may feel compelled to take action after December 31, the deadline for Hezbollah's disarmament, which could escalate the arms race and heighten concerns among Israeli security officials.
In late June of last year, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iranian territory, targeting military positions and nuclear facilities, and carried out targeted killings of numerous Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists, marking a significant security breach within Iran.
Since that attack, Tehran officials have emphasized that Iran has rebuilt its military capabilities, claiming they are now "stronger and more effective" than before the Israeli strike.
