Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi confirmed that uranium enrichment is currently not taking place, stating that the facilities targeted by Israeli strikes are no longer accessible and that these attacks have completely disrupted their operations.
During the "International Law Under Fire" conference, Abadi noted that all attacked facilities were under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and pointed out that there has never been a case in the agency's history where the nuclear sites of a member state were attacked.
He explained that the strikes specifically affected the enrichment facilities and that Tehran has denied access to the IAEA, as it is currently unable to enter certain sites due to the presence of unused materials and security risks that hinder inspections.
Regarding a proposed resolution in the Board of Governors against Iran, Abadi stated that supporting countries are demanding a halt to enrichment and the suspension of facility reconstruction, as well as a return to negotiations. He accused them of seeking to exert further pressure, despite Iran providing the agency with essential information.
Abadi dismissed Israeli allegations that Tehran is developing nuclear weapons as "absurd," highlighting that Israel possesses the largest arsenal of weapons of mass destruction while applying pressure on Iran.
