Bahrain to Increase Cost of Living Allowance for Low-Income Families Starting January 2026

The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced an increase in financial assistance for low-income families through an enhancement of the cost of living allowance, effective January 2026. This initiative follows directives from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is under the direct supervision of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Crown Prince has instructed the Ministry of Social Development to finalize the necessary procedures to ensure a smooth distribution of the new allowances, according to the Bahrain News Agency BNA.
The increases are as follows:
• 130 Bahraini Dinars monthly for families with a head of household income below 300 Dinars.
• 97 Bahraini Dinars monthly for families with a head of household income between 301 and 700 Dinars.
• 75 Bahraini Dinars monthly for families with a head of household income between 701 and 1000 Dinars.
This decision is part of the Bahraini leadership's efforts to enhance social protection, support low-income groups, and improve the living standards of all citizens, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to economic and social welfare.
