Egyptian Singer Sherine Abdel Wahab's Health Update: Association Reassures Fans
As concerns grow among her fans, Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Egyptian Actors' Association, provided an update on the health and status of renowned Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab, who has not been seen publicly for some time, sparking a wave of inquiries on social media.
Zaki confirmed during a phone interview on the program "Al-Hekaya" on MBCEgypt that he visited Sherine at her home a few days ago and spoke with her.
He stated that she is doing well but currently prefers not to leave her house or have much contact with friends, adding, "She is not in the mood to go out at the moment."
Zaki attempted to persuade her to step outside briefly, but she declined, noting that her situation may change in the future.
He also confirmed that her children would be visiting her soon and that she is not alone in her home, as she is accompanied by close friends.
In a post on her official Instagram account, Sherine dismissed rumors about her health deteriorating, calling the circulating news "ridiculous" and threatening legal action against those spreading such claims.
A source close to her revealed that she is suffering from severe depression and has isolated herself at home, only communicating with her two daughters.
The past year has been particularly challenging for her, marked by significant personal conflicts with her brother Mohamed, which led her to file a legal complaint against him, demanding he cease harassment. Additionally, she has faced several emotional crises involving her ex-husband Hossam Habib.
In this context, journalist Amr Adib made an urgent appeal for Sherine to appear and communicate with her audience, emphasizing that her absence from the artistic and media scene is concerning and labeling her as a cultural treasure of Egypt and the Arab world that must be preserved.
Adib stated on his show: "I feel like Sherine is disappearing... I know nothing about her, who is with her, her health status, or her social life. Help me find Sherine."
He stressed the importance of Sherine's public appearance to address the raised questions and reassure her audience, who is searching for her, confirming: "We need to protect Sherine, and she must speak, because we love her."
As of now, the mystery surrounding Sherine's artistic and personal life continues, while her fans persist in social media search campaigns using hashtags like #WhereIsSherine and #SearchForSherine, hoping for her return to calm her supporters.
