Ukrainian Intelligence Reports Russian Plans for Increased Glide Bomb Production

Ukrainian intelligence sources have disclosed that Russia intends to boost its glide bomb production to 120,000 units this year, which includes plans for 500 new long-range variants capable of reaching targets up to 200 kilometers away.
This substantial increase is part of an ongoing arms race that has escalated since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, with Russian defense facilities reportedly operating continuously to enhance their arsenal of munitions and missiles.
Major General Vadim Skibitsky, the Deputy Head of Ukrainian Military Intelligence, confirmed a notable rise in glide bomb manufacturing. These munitions are characterized by their wings and small engines, allowing them to travel considerable distances before striking their targets.
According to Ukrainian assessments, Russian forces are currently launching between 200 and 250 glide bombs each day, with an average of 170 bombs per day recorded last month.
Kyiv anticipates that Moscow will soon commence large-scale production of the new long-range bomb model, aiming to complete the production of 500 units by the end of this year.
