The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced the official ball for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, set to take place in Morocco. Named "Etri", the ball has been designed by the global sports brand Puma. More than just a sporting item, it serves as a representation of Moroccan culture and the spirit of African football.
The design of "Etri" draws inspiration from Moroccan zellige art, characterized by its complex geometric patterns, which highlight the richness of local heritage. The ball features a five-pointed star, reflecting the Moroccan flag, along with floral motifs and circular designs that symbolize the unity of the 24 teams participating in the tournament, showcasing the diversity of the African continent.
From a technical perspective, "Etri" utilizes "Orbita 6" technology, which ensures high stability in flight and precision in passing and shooting. This technology is also employed in prestigious competitions such as La Liga. The ball has been rigorously tested to meet "FIFA Quality Pro" standards, ensuring it performs optimally across various weather conditions and playing surfaces.
"Etri" will be used in all matches of the tournament, which will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. It will be available for purchase at official Puma outlets. This innovative design merges Moroccan aesthetics with cutting-edge technology, creating a cultural emblem that unites Africa through the love of sport.
