Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: S Pen Design Simplified

Recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy S26 Ultra from Samsung may introduce a design change that could disappoint some fans. The S Pen will no longer feature a variety of colors that coordinate with the phone's finish, instead adopting a simpler and more formal aesthetic.
Images from the leaks suggest that the S Pen will only have a clickable tip that matches the color of the phone's frame, while the body of the pen will be available in either black or white. This marks a departure from the previous Ultra models, where the S Pen's color was fully aligned with the device.
While the limited color options align with earlier leaks regarding the phone's palette, this shift may be perceived as a reduction in user experience, especially considering the anticipated high price point of the Ultra model at launch.
Some analysts speculate that this change may be part of a cost-reduction strategy, although the justification for this move remains unclear.
This alteration follows a trend of diminishing S Pen features; last year, Samsung eliminated pen support from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 just months after introducing the S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra without its traditional Bluetooth functionalities.
Though the removal of vibrant colors may seem minor, it signifies the loss of a distinctive feature that has been well-received by users of the Ultra series for years.
