Elon Musk Summoned by French Prosecutors for Investigation into Platform X

Search of the Platform's Offices in France
French Attorney General Laure Picot announced that authorities have initiated searches of the X platform's offices in France, coinciding with the expansion of investigations into the platform's recent activities.
Summoning Executives and Employees
Picot confirmed that the summons extends to Linda Yaccarino, the former CEO of the platform, as well as several employees who are being called for questioning between April 20 and April 24, 2026.
Allegations Related to Algorithms and Content
The investigations began in early 2025 following complaints from French lawmakers regarding potential bias in the platform's algorithms and their effects on content circulation. The inquiry has since broadened to include serious allegations, such as complicity in the possession or distribution of pornographic materials involving minors, issues related to sexually explicit deepfake technologies, and the publication of Holocaust denial content.
Voluntary Questioning to Clarify Management's Position
The French prosecution has indicated that the questioning will be voluntary, allowing platform officials to provide their perspective on the allegations and outline any measures the company may implement to adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
