Algeria has officially begun the process to terminate its air services agreement with the United Arab Emirates, according to reports from the Algerian news agency.

The agreement, initially signed on May 13, 2013, and ratified by a presidential decree on December 30, 2014, includes provisions for its termination.

Under the terms of the agreement, Algeria is required to inform the UAE of its cancellation decision through official diplomatic channels and to notify the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to facilitate necessary actions within the context of international aviation regulations.
