U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated on Friday that the United States has a different influence in Venezuela, noting that the Venezuelan government is showing a growing willingness to cooperate with Washington and address corruption.
Wright mentioned that American oil companies are currently looking towards Venezuela, observing that conditions on the ground have notably shifted due to the "new influence" the U.S. has in the country.
His comments come amid rapid U.S. efforts to redefine its relationship with the Venezuelan oil sector, following years of sanctions and political tensions.
