A fleet of tankers has returned to Venezuelan waters on Saturday after departing in early January, as reported by the state oil company PDVSA.
Estimates suggest that the fleet includes around 12 loaded vessels and at least three empty ones, which had left in defiance of the blockade imposed by the U.S. administration since mid-December, leading to a significant drop in Venezuela's oil exports.
As U.S. authorities monitor these movements, they have confirmed that the next step for Venezuela will be to organize crude oil exports as part of a $2 billion supply agreement currently under negotiation between Caracas and Washington. This effort aims to restructure the oil relationship between the two parties following months of tensions and sanctions.
