Mohamed Salah Misses Grandfather's Funeral Due to Liverpool Match

Mohamed Salah, the star player for Liverpool and the Egyptian national team, is mourning the loss of his maternal grandfather, Hajj Ahmed Abdel Aziz El-Bamby, who passed away on Monday after a sudden illness at his home in Nagrig, Gharbia province.
The burial took place following the midday prayer, attended by Salah's father, Salah Ghaly, and his brother, Nasser Salah. Mohamed Salah was absent from the funeral as he was in the UK to participate in a Premier League match against Sunderland.
Abdel Aziz El-Bamby, the deceased's son and Mohamed Salah's uncle, confirmed the news of his passing on Facebook, stating: "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. My father is in Allah's hands."
The Egyptian Football Association extended its condolences to Salah, stating in an official release:
"The board, the secretary-general, the technical staff of the national teams, and all employees express their heartfelt condolences and support to Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egypt national team and Liverpool, following the death of his grandfather. May Allah grant him mercy and inspire patience and comfort to his family and loved ones. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return."
It has not yet been confirmed whether Mohamed Salah will attend the funeral services, which are expected to take place in the coming days. His attendance may be limited due to his Premier League commitments.
This somber event serves as a reminder of the humanity of football heroes, who, despite their global fame, remain connected to their roots and loved ones.
