Iran Refuses Uranium Export, Open to Enrichment Reduction to Prevent Conflict

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced today that the country's sovereign position is to refuse the export of enriched uranium beyond its borders. He also indicated Tehran's willingness to reduce its enrichment levels as part of a serious agreement that acknowledges its national interests.

During indirect talks in Muscat, Oman, Araqchi emphasized that Iran does not seek to provoke a regional war and that neighboring countries are also keen to avoid a broader conflict. He warned that any U.S. military action would drastically alter the situation.

Araqchi noted his commitment to remain in Muscat for as long as necessary to reach a genuine agreement promptly, adding that relocating for the second round of negotiations with Washington remains a viable option depending on the progress of discussions.
