Bahrain to Increase Cost of Living Allowance in 2026 to Support Low-Income Families

The Kingdom of Bahrain has revealed plans to enhance financial support for low-income families through an increase in the cost of living allowance, effective January 2026. This initiative follows directives from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is under the direct supervision of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Crown Prince has tasked the Ministry of Social Development with finalizing the necessary procedures to ensure the smooth distribution of the new allowances, as reported by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The new allowances will be as follows:
• 130 Bahraini dinars per month for families with a head of household earning less than 300 dinars.
• 97 Bahraini dinars per month for families with a head of household earning between 301 and 700 dinars.
• 75 Bahraini dinars per month for families with a head of household earning between 701 and 1000 dinars.
This decision is part of Bahrain's ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection and support low-income groups, reflecting the kingdom's commitment to enhancing the economic and social well-being of all citizens.
