Alep Governor Reports Defections Among Syrian Democratic Forces Amid Security Preparations for Civilian Return

Alep Governor Azam al-Ghareeb stated on Thursday that a number of members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have abandoned their posts in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, with some fleeing entirely. These developments may indicate a significant shift in the regional landscape in the weeks ahead.

He also noted that internal security forces are preparing to deploy in both neighborhoods to secure the areas and create suitable conditions for the return of displaced individuals following several days of tensions and clashes.
