Ashraf Zaki, the president of the Egyptian Actors' Union, has filed a formal complaint with the Supreme Media Regulatory Council against the blogger known as "Um Jaser." This action follows a Facebook video she shared, which the union found to be offensive and in violation of artistic standards.
The complaint comes amid heightened scrutiny following the union's decision to suspend the series "Ruh OFF" due to organizational breaches, including the contract with "Um Jaser" that lacked the necessary approvals from the union, representing a clear violation of artistic regulations.
The union reiterated its commitment to enforcing laws governing the profession and its opposition to any content or practices that undermine the dignity of the artistic community or offend its members.
