Kamala Harris Reactivates Campaign Account, Sparking 2028 Presidential Speculation

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris reactivated her campaign social media account on Thursday, prompting widespread speculation regarding a possible presidential bid in 2028.
In a video posted on the platform "X", Harris announced the rebranding of her account from "Kamala Headquarters" to "Headquarters_67", a nod to the numbers 6 and 7, which resonate with Generation Z. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating: "I’m really excited about this."
On "TikTok", the account is simply named "Headquarters".
The account had been inactive since February 5, 2024, following Donald Trump's announcement of his presidential victory.
Harris clarified that the renewed account will focus on engaging young Americans and will feature "some of our great brave leaders," including elected officials and civil society figures. She concluded her message with: "Stay in touch, we’ll see you there."
According to various polls, Harris is currently leading the list of potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 election, surpassing California Governor Gavin Newsom and other notable figures.
In response to Harris's announcement, Trump’s team quickly issued a rebuttal; White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson mocked the reactivation on "X", stating: "Showing more of Kamala is exactly what Democrats need," while the "Trump War Room" account quipped: "You guys want more pain?" referring to the prospect of her political comeback.
Harris has been touring various U.S. states to promote her new book titled "107 Days", which reflects on her brief presidential campaign in 2024 following Joe Biden's withdrawal on July 21. In this book, the first female Vice President of the U.S. assesses Biden's performance and his team's efforts, while her promotional tour in 2026 is viewed as a potential prelude to a future presidential campaign.
