Saudi Customs Seizes Over 38,000 Amphetamine Pills at King Khalid Airport

Saudi customs, known as "Zatka," successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 38,340 amphetamine pills hidden in a postal package arriving in the kingdom.
According to Zatka spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi, the package underwent standard customs procedures, which included inspections using security technology and manual checks, leading to the discovery of the drugs.
Following the seizure operation, coordination with the General Directorate for Drug Control resulted in the arrest of two individuals within the kingdom who were set to receive the shipment.
Zatka confirmed that all customs entry points in the kingdom will enhance surveillance on imports and exports, remaining vigilant against any smuggling attempts as part of their strategy to bolster community safety and limit the spread of illegal drugs.
The agency urged the public to assist in the fight against smuggling and protect the community and national economy by reporting any attempts at smuggling or violations of customs regulations through the local hotline 1910 or internationally at 009661910, or via email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa. Confidentiality is assured, and a reward will be provided for verified reports.
