Mohamed Salah Misses Grandfather's Funeral Due to Liverpool Match

The family of Liverpool and Egyptian national team star Mohamed Salah announced the passing of his maternal grandfather, Haj Ahmed Abdel Aziz Al-Bambi, who died on Monday following a sudden illness at his home in the village of Nagrig, located in Gharbia province.
The funeral took place after the noon prayer, attended by the player's father, Salah Ghaly, and his brother, Nasser Salah. Mohamed Salah could not be present at the funeral as he was in the UK to compete in a Premier League match against Sunderland.
Abdel Aziz Al-Bambi, the deceased's son and Mohamed Salah's uncle, confirmed the news of his passing via his Facebook account, stating:
"Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un... my father is under Allah's protection."
The Egyptian Football Association extended its condolences to the Egyptian star in an official statement:
"The board of directors, the general secretary, the technical staff of the national teams, and all employees express their deepest condolences and solidarity with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool FC, on the passing of his grandfather. May Allah have mercy on him. We pray that Allah grants him a place in His vast mercy and provides patience and comfort to his family and loved ones... Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un."
It remains undecided whether Mohamed Salah will attend the wake for his grandfather, expected to take place in the coming days, with anticipation that his participation will be limited to the wake after fulfilling his commitments with his team in the Premier League.
This somber occasion serves as a reminder of the humanity of football heroes, who, despite their global fame, remain connected to their roots and loved ones.
