Liberman: Israel Must Meet Conditions Before Gaza Phase Two Begins

Avigdor Liberman, the leader of the Israel Beitenu party, asserted on Wednesday that Israel is obligated to follow the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza as specified in President Donald Trump's plan. He warned that violating these terms would weaken Israel's standing and influence the future of the agreement.

Liberman noted that the second phase in Gaza cannot commence until the remains of the last Israeli soldier held captive are returned, highlighting that this condition is both a humanitarian and security issue that must not be overlooked.

He also stated that the disarmament of Hamas is a critical requirement to ensure Israel's security and to prevent future conflicts.

Liberman's comments come at a time when international parties are discussing the initiation of the second phase of the agreement, which involves establishing a transitional Palestinian administration and comprehensive reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. His stance reflects a hardline political approach that demands strict security guarantees before any progress can be made in the political process.
