Israeli Drone Strike Kills Civilian in Southern Lebanon Amid Ongoing Tensions

A civilian was killed when an Israeli drone targeted his vehicle in Al-Mansouri, southern Lebanon. This incident underscores the rising tensions in the region, despite a ceasefire agreement signed in November.
According to Lebanese news sources, the attack occurred near the Imam Musa al-Sadr Stadium, igniting flames at the site of the strike.
The agency also reported sightings of Israeli aircraft over western Lebanese villages, particularly in the Tyre district, along with the launch of flares in the airspace near the border town of Yaroun.
This attack follows a ceasefire agreement established between Israel and Lebanon on November 27, 2024. Nevertheless, the Israeli military continues operations in various regions of Lebanon.
In this context, Lebanese authorities have accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire terms through attacks and maintaining military presence within Lebanese territory.
Israel, on its part, defends its ongoing operations as necessary to thwart what it describes as attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its military capabilities, while still occupying five strategic heights in the area.
Amid fears of further escalation, Beirut has expressed a willingness to seek diplomatic solutions. President Joseph Aoun recently indicated his readiness to negotiate with Israel to halt the attacks, though this request has yet to receive a response, according to media reports.
