China Opposes Trump's Tariffs on Countries Trading with Iran

China has taken a definitive stance against any unilateral tariffs following comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened a 25% tariff on any country engaging in trade with Iran.
A spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in Washington stated:
"China's position against arbitrary tariffs is firm and clear. Trade wars do not benefit anyone, and coercion and pressure do not solve problems."
They added: "We strongly oppose any illegal unilateral sanctions and violations of legal boundaries, and we will take all necessary measures to safeguard our legitimate rights and interests."
This escalation comes amid increasing U.S. economic pressure on Tehran, coinciding with rising political and economic tensions between the two nations.
Analysts predict that the U.S. decision could elicit widespread international reactions due to its potential impact on Washington's trade partners.
According to U.S. officials, Trump may consider military action against Iran, which could pave the way for negotiations regarding its nuclear program following any initial strike.
Experts warn that any military escalation could lead to a significant rise in oil prices, especially since Iran exports approximately two million barrels per day from an estimated production of 3.2 million barrels daily.
The global community is also closely monitoring U.S. actions regarding Venezuela, where reports suggest substantial investments that reflect a political agenda rather than a technical market assessment.
