Turkish Man Alters Appearance to Avoid Comparisons with Jeffrey Epstein

Refaat Özdemir, a 55-year-old resident of Kayseri, Turkey, has shared his daily struggles after being compared to the notorious American financier Jeffrey Epstein. In an interview with DHA news agency, Özdemir described how the negative glances and comments from passersby have become a regular part of his life, prompting him to make significant changes to his appearance.

Changes to Distinguish Himself

Özdemir stated that he will alter his hairstyle and grow a beard, despite his reluctance, in an effort to differentiate himself from the image of Epstein that has circulated widely on social media and in the news. He emphasized, "I am not Epstein. A person as bad as him should not be associated with Kayseri."

Background on Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein was accused in 2019 of sex trafficking minors in the United States and died in prison in July of that year, with investigations concluding it was a suicide. His actions have led to global infamy, impacting the lives of individuals who bear a resemblance to him, even inadvertently.
