Authorities in Turkey have located the bodies of Huriye Halwaji, 43, and her five-year-old son, who had been missing since November 2. Their disappearance has raised significant public concern.

The bodies were discovered frozen at the bottom of a waterway in a forested area near Kocaeli village in Bozkurt, northern Turkey.

The Turkish police, along with gendarmerie and emergency teams (AFAD), conducted extensive searches over several days before finding the bodies under mysterious circumstances that have prompted numerous questions regarding their deaths.

Local media outlets, including CNN Türk, reported that the bodies were found unclothed, further complicating the investigation.

The mother’s clothing was located a short distance from her body, while the child’s body was found approximately 50 meters away, beneath a nearby waterfall.

Initial examinations revealed no clear signs of physical violence, such as stab wounds or bruises, leading investigators to consider the possibility of death due to hypothermia.

The public prosecutor's office in Inebolu is continuing its investigation, with the bodies sent to Ankara for a comprehensive autopsy that may clarify the cause of death. Meanwhile, the mother’s phone is still missing, and search teams are continuing their efforts in the area amid growing public interest in the case.
