Ukrainian media reported that Hollywood star and former UN special envoy for refugees, Angelina Jolie, made a surprise visit to the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine on Wednesday.

The tour included several medical facilities, including a maternity ward and a children's hospital in the city that was under Russian control for several months during 2022.

Photo in Protective Clothing

The local official Vitaly Bogdanov posted a photo on "Facebook" showing Jolie wearing a protective vest bearing a Ukrainian emblem, with no official comment on the visit from the Ukrainian government or from Jolie herself.

Previous Visit During the War

This visit comes about two and a half years after the last visit the American star made to Ukraine, a few months after the outbreak of the war, where she met with displaced persons in the city of Lviv in the west of the country.
